Horse riding camps
Summer horse riding day camps – a holiday full of horses, friends and adventure
Horse riding day camps at Resort Orlov
Summer with horses has a magic all of its own. Long sunny days, the smell of hay, time outdoors, new friends and plenty of shared adventures. That is exactly the kind of holiday we want to offer children at Resort Orlov. A holiday when they can forget about phones and computers for a while, discover the world of horses and enjoy moments they will remember for a long time.
Our riding day camps are for children aged roughly 6 to 13. We welcome young horse lovers who are only just getting to know horses, as well as children who already have some riding experience and want to keep developing their skills. We adapt the programme to each child's age, abilities and experience, so that everyone can enjoy their own little riding story.
We believe a holiday with horses is not just about riding. Above all, it is about learning, discovering, mutual trust and the joy of time spent together. We want children to understand that a horse is not only a companion for time in the saddle, but a living creature that needs daily care, patience and respect.
New experiences every day
Every day of the camp gives children a chance to get to know the world of horses a little better. They will be in daily contact with the horses and will gradually learn to recognise their behaviour, their needs and their different personalities. They will also learn about various horse breeds and interesting facts about their lives. They will find out that every horse is unique and that the way to its trust leads above all through calm, patience and mutual understanding.
Riding lessons are, of course, an essential part of the programme, adapted to each child's experience and abilities. Beginners will gradually learn the basics of a correct seat, balance and control of the horse, while more experienced young riders will have room to refine their skills further. What matters to us is not how quickly children progress, but the joy of riding, growing confidence and building trust between child and horse.
Life around the horses will be just as important as time in the saddle. Children will learn to groom a horse properly, get it ready for riding, tack it up and look after its equipment. They will see how a stable runs day to day and try out the simple tasks that are part and parcel of caring for horses. The programme also includes groundwork, where children learn to lead a horse safely, communicate with it and better understand its natural behaviour.
A holiday full of adventure and friendship
But the day camp will not only be about horses. We want children to enjoy a real summer holiday with everything that goes with it. Games, competitions, team challenges, themed activities and little surprises are all waiting for them. We will also set out to explore the surrounding countryside, discover what makes it special and enjoy being active in the fresh air in the beautiful setting of the Brdy hills.
Through shared activities, children will naturally make new friends, learn to work together, help one another and take responsibility for the tasks they are given. They will discover that not everything works out the first time and that even small successes can bring great joy. Every task completed, every fear overcome and every step forward in the saddle will help them grow more independent and build healthy self-confidence.
We want to create an environment where children feel at ease, have room to discover new things and, above all, enjoy carefree holiday days. A place where being the best does not matter, but where what counts is the desire to try, to learn and to enjoy the experiences we share.
