Wellness at Resort Orlov – time to unwind
After a long walk through the Brdy forests, a bike ride or a demanding day at work, there is nothing better than a moment when you do not have to do anything at all. At Resort Orlov, we are preparing a wellness area that brings together natural materials, soothing warmth, recovery and calm.
You can look forward to a sauna lined with fragrant cedar wood, a steam room, a relaxation area, massages and whole-body cryotherapy in a CRYONiQ CRYO XC cryosauna. Our aim is to create a place where you can unwind after an active day or during a weekend stay in the Brdy hills.
The wellness area is currently being prepared. We will announce the exact opening date, prices, opening hours and booking options before it opens.
Cedar sauna and steam room
One of the highlights of our wellness area will be a sauna lined with cedar wood. Its natural grain and distinctive scent will give the space a character of its own. After the sauna, you will be able to rest in the adjoining relaxation area.
The wellness area will also include a steam room. Compared with the sauna, it will offer higher humidity and a different kind of heat, so everyone can choose the way of relaxing that suits them best.
A space to slow down
Rest is an important part of the whole wellness experience. That is why we are preparing a relaxation area with comfortable loungers, natural materials and greenery. The combination of wood, soft lighting and simple lines will echo the calm atmosphere of the surrounding countryside.
Whole-body cryotherapy – the power of extreme cold
A short stay in intense cold is an unusual experience and an interesting addition to recovery, especially after physical exertion.
Whole-body cryotherapy is a procedure in which the body is exposed to very low temperatures for a short time. In our wellness area, we are preparing a modern CRYO XC cryosauna made by CRYONiQ.
CRYONiQ TECHNOLOGY
CRYO XC cryosauna
For whole-body cryotherapy, we have chosen CRYO XC technology from CRYONiQ, a company that specialises in cryotherapy equipment.
CRYO XC uses liquid nitrogen to create an environment with an extremely low temperature. The cabin is designed for short individual sessions during which the visitor's head stays above its upper edge.
The manufacturer focuses on an even distribution of cold, visitor comfort and the safety features of the equipment. The session itself is supervised by trained staff.
More about CRYO XC technologyWhat can you expect from cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy is popular above all with athletes and people looking for new ways to recover. Some visitors describe feeling refreshed, invigorated or relaxed after a session.
- Recovery after sport: some research suggests it may briefly ease muscle soreness after physical exertion.
- A feeling of freshness: intense cold can be a strikingly invigorating experience.
- Subjective relaxation: some visitors describe a pleasant feeling of recovery after a session.
- Part of an active lifestyle: cryotherapy can be included in a wider routine of rest and recovery.
The effects of whole-body cryotherapy are still being studied. It is not a substitute for medical treatment, rehabilitation or other proven healthcare.
What happens during a cryosauna session?
The whole visit includes preparation, a short stay in the cryosauna and then gradually warming up. The exact conditions are set by the facility rules and the trained staff.
- Preparation
Staff will explain how the session works and the safety rules. Before entering, your skin must be dry, you need to remove any unsuitable items and wear the required protective gear. - Entering the cryosauna
You step into the individual CRYO XC cabin. During the session, your head stays above the upper edge of the cabin. - A short stay in the cold
The session itself usually lasts about 1 to 3 minutes. The length and settings are determined by the staff according to the manufacturer's instructions and the visitor's individual circumstances. - Gradual warming up
After the session, you gradually warm up, for example with light exercise, and then rest.
Safety and contraindications
Extreme cold is not suitable for everyone. Risks may include certain cardiovascular conditions, untreated or poorly controlled high blood pressure, circulatory disorders, hypersensitivity to cold and acute infectious diseases.
The session is not suitable when under the influence of alcohol or drugs and is generally not recommended during pregnancy. Further restrictions are set out in the operating and safety instructions of the facility.
Important: Before your first visit, you will need to read the contraindications. If you have any health problems, consult your doctor in advance about whether cryotherapy is suitable for you.
How often should you have cryotherapy?
There is no universal number of sessions that suits everyone. How often depends on your health, your individual tolerance of cold and the reason for your visit. Some people use cryotherapy occasionally, others make it a regular part of their recovery routine.
We will publish specific options and recommendations together with the operating information before the wellness area opens.
