A recreation area on the edge of Příbram for relaxing, walks and family activities, depending on the season.
The Nový rybník recreation area lies on the south-eastern edge of Příbram by the road to Milín, about 4 km from Orlov. Entry is free and you can come for a walk around the water all year round. It is especially popular with families. Parking is available by the area.
The pond has been restored and now has a sandy beach, jetties and a small island with a gazebo, reached by a footbridge. In summer it is used for open-water swimming. For children there is a water playground, a themed playground, a hobbit village, trampolines and a small petting zoo. Older children and adults can use the 1,800-metre inline skating track, the skatepark, the outdoor gym or the 18-hole adventure golf course with a mining theme.
There is also a bistro, a sports equipment hire and an open-air cinema. In summer you can stay overnight at the small campsite in wooden cabins or your own tent.
Dogs and other animals are not allowed in the area at any time of year. Some attractions, such as the adventure golf, only run in season and in good weather. Opening hours for each part and current water quality are on the area's website.
